Very helpful. I love this:”The Holy Spirit is the great mission strategist.”
This article expressed much of my feeling on our search for mission. It is good to always be in discussion of it, constantly looking around for ways to be on mission. And also recognizing that if we are “getting” the big concepts of Kingdom-living, we will naturally stumble upon mission through the Holy Spirit.
Again… that doesn’t mean we don’t talk about it or keep revisiting it and work on doing mission as a group specifically focusing on something, but we don’t limit mission to a service project.
Excited to get moving… In physics it is easier to turn something that has momentum—so, as we get going, we have faith that God will be guiding us through/to where He intends… It is exciting to realize that it just may not be what we (in our human minds) picture…but we need to begin this journey.
I like the thought that its a fluid, spirit led thing. I love that the format of TCC allows for that. I think even if we get started on a “focus”, it needs to be constantly revisited as the spirit leads through the passions of our family.
Although that post mentioned this, I don’t think it did justice to the importance of doing ministry and listening to the spirit TOGETHER and the added momentum that will provide because I do think that is super important. While I think its unnegotiably important that we each live our individual lives missionally where we are everyday and that we respond to individual passions that come through that, I don’t think we’ll be as effective if the ONLY thing we do is live our individual lives missionally and meet back together once a week as opposed to serving together on mission.
Mmm Summer I love that. We each listen individually to the Spirit as he guides our individual steps, and there are certain things that we just can’t accomplish as individuals. So to accomplish those things, we listen to the Spirit as a group.
Ok, so I didn’t read the Tim C thing yet, but I am super excited about the passion and intentions and spirit led-ness of this discussion! Can’t wait to meet up and see where everyone is at!
